EMPLOYEE LIFELINE
Obtain the item you require for your quest by working for another farmer. There are two options and you may use one or both
A. For crops, flowers, trees, fish
Post on the wall which things you require and ask if anyone has any ready for harvest. If they do, they can hire you to harvest. PLEASE be aware that the other farmer may not want ALL of their farm harvested, and since the quests don't need very many, it's important to pay attention to the person hiring you regarding how many you can take. Check to see how many of the item you require then use the SINGLE harvesting tool (scythe) to harvest only as much as you require. Taking more than you need when the farmer has not said "take it all" can result in that person not offering their crops again! Single harvest tool is in photo 1 below
IMPORTANT!!
IF you own the larger tools (or if the hiring farmer has the checkboxes set to allow workers to use theirs), when you get to the farm to get what you need, those bigger tools will automatically be "Active". CLICK on the green man BEFORE you start harvesting or you may take a lot more than you need (or the farmer wants you to take!) SEE PICTURE 2 below
You only get a percentage of the crop/trees/flowers harvested, and Slashkey has not set a specific number (they HAD at one time....this has changed!!)
What we suggest is that you ONLY TAKE 3-5 at a time, and then CHECK YOUR QUEST! If you don't have the green checkmark yet, take 3-5 more and re-check. Sometimes as few as 2 will work to get the 1 you need. Sometimes you may have to take more than 10 for every 1 you need for your quest.
Some quests will require 1 of something...others may require as many as 10...so it's possible you MAY have to take over 100 (10 times) the original amount needed to get them...sometimes you may be able to take only a few.
MAKE SURE THE HIRING FARMER DOES NOT MIND IF YOU TAKE MORE THAN A FEW!!
To check progress, click on the Extended tool bar, and then you will be able to see your Quest cube to check to see if you have harvested enough (Pictures 3 and 4 below)
B. If the item you require comes from a facility
You can follow a Facilities post from the group wall (post must be from someone on your friends list) and work in their facilities, or just follow one of your friends facility posts from the newsfeed. Whenever you work someone else's facilities you receive a percentage of the items produced while you are there - including the item you require for your quest (assuming they have the right facility). You may also ask the group if someone has a specific facility you need, but again, they MUST be your Facebook friend for you to work their facilities. If you are a NEW friend, you will need to use the FT Memcache cleaner to clear game data before it will allow you to work
For example - your quest is to make Tuna Sandwiches. You can do all the following steps with the employee lifeline, on someone else's farm. Remember that they must be done in the correct order for the quest or they will not count.
Primary Products first! (in any order)
Harvest wheat
Harvest lettuce
Fish for the tuna
Secondary Products when primary products are done (in any order)
Earn canned Tuna from working their Food Preserve Factory
Earn flour from working their Windmill
Earn bread from working their Bakery
Then produce the Tuna Sandwich in your own Sandwich Restaurant
IF YOUR QUEST INCLUDES "LOAD INTO A SERVICE FACILITY", (SF) you can get the finished product you need to "load" from working others facilities with the EMPLOYEE lifeline too, but you first must have the other steps completed. (and of course own the Service Facility you need to "load" it in) By working someone else's facility, you can save the time it would take for you to make it yourself, or get a finished product you need for a Service Facility you DO own when you DON'T own the facility that makes it.
For example---You have a quest that requires you to load Hedge Shears into the Home Depot Store (which you own) but you don't own the Garden Tools Facilty. You can work someone else's Garden Tool facility and get the Hedge Shears, and then you're free to "load" them into your Home Depot Store!
Even if you DO own the Garden Tools facility, you can save 6 hours of production time by getting them from someone else's!
